Kirsten Dunst purse snatcher's defense: He's too stupid to have done it

"Spider-Man" starlet Kirsten Dunst's accused burglar says he's too stupid to be guilty.

James Jimenez took the stand in a Manhattan courtroom Friday and portrayed himself as a patsy confused by big words.

He insisted that he didn't realize his pal had grabbed Dunst's designer handbag from a penthouse suite in the SoHo Grand Hotel.

"I was just following him," Jimenez, 35, said of Jarrod Beinerman, who is doing four years for the heist.

Jimenez said he thought he was on an errand for his pal's sick mother - but the prosecutor showed she's no dummy.

"At 4 a.m.?" Assistant District Attorney Tricia Stolfi asked incredulously.
Dunst testified Thursday that she returned to the penthouse suite to find the $2,000 bag missing, along with her co-star's camera and iPod and her assistant's $13,000 purse.
