America's Next Top Model: Janice Dickinson Comments on Tyra-Paulina Issue
Paulina Porizkova might have earned the fury of many America's Next Top Model contestants and fans for speaking her mind about the show, but she seems to have some major personalities backing her up. Janice Dickinson, a former judge of the reality TV competition, remarked that getting fired from the panel is just how things go on the series.
Last week, it was announced that Paulina Porizkova was let go from America's Next Top Model due to budget cuts. It appears as though Janice Dickinson has an entirely different take on the matter. "That's how Tyra rolls," she said on an interview with MTV News.
"Tyra rolls like that," the supermodel continued. "She likes to fire people just about when she's promising them large amounts of money, [then] they get the ax, like I did. And then she takes the money and runs."
While Tyra Banks herself could not be reached for comment, she and America's Next Top Model co-executive producer Ken Mok recently released a statement regarding Paulina's firing. As with what was said in the past, it maintains that the budget was the reason for it all.
"The current state of the economy has forced shows to make major budget cuts industry wide," the statement read. "America's Next Top Model is not immune to these financially challenging times. We've had to make significant cuts in every area of the production and, unfortunately, Paulina was a casualty of these cuts."
It continued to say that the former cover girl won't be returning to judge Top Model's 13th Cycle despite Tyra's tears. "Tyra, who pursued Paulina to join the show as a judge multiple times, was incredibly saddened by the decision the show was forced to make. We really enjoyed working with Paulina, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors."
These two conflicting theories just lead us all to question what really happened to Paulina. Still, whether it was the wrath of Tyra or the economy's fault, there's still another season of the series to look forward to.
